Panel 1: Choices
We
make choices every day of our lives. Do we choose
to stand up for what is right even if it gets
us into trouble? Or do we just follow the crowd?
Would we stand up to the bully of the class
or play it safe?
History
shows us that certain choices determined whether
people lived or died. This exhibition is about
the choices that young people made in difficult
situations.
The
exhibition looks at one of the darkest periods
in history: the Holocaust. During this period,
six million Jews and millions of others, believed
to be 'undesirable' were murdered by Adolf Hitler's
Nazi Party all over Europe. This might have
never happened if ordinary people had made different
choices when Adolf Hitler began to rise to power
in the 1920's and 1930's.
We
will look at the choices young people made in
the 1930's and 1940's. We will also look at
the choices young people have to make today.
